Hey everyone. I've been thinking about ways to more effectively share information in the computer age that are more useful to all concerned than Facebook and Twitter. I've tried creating Forums in the past without a great deal of success. Maybe I sought the wrong audience, or the subject matter more or less duplicated content already on established Facebook pages ... I really don't know.
I do know this subject matter is crucial to the survival of mankind and life on Earth in general. As the well known disasters at Chernobyl and Fukushima illustrate, Nuclear Energy is NOT safe, for many many reasons. Assume for a second, these events never took place, Nuclear Energy is STILL not safe, we have no real solution for Nuclear Waste. Yes, that puts me in the unilateral moratorium crowd, sorry if that troubles you (I'm NOT actually).
I really AM an EX Nuke Troop, I worked the B-1B program with the 96th Bombardment Group (Heavy) under The Strategic Air Command (SAC) at Dyess, Air Force Base, TX 1986-1990. I slowly came to the conclusion of the absolute INSANITY of Nuclear Weapons, while understanding the strategy of 'peace through mutually assured destruction and deterrence'.
Many have asked me what the solution to this mess is, as though I alone was intelligent enough, had the political influence necessary, had the money/financing necessary to achieve a solution that satisfied all concerned. Let's be realistic about it, no single person could do this, and the expectation isn't very realistic. I will make the following assumptions about moving in the right direction somehow.
I'm NOT a globalist, but this solution will require several things:
So how in this age of the 30 second attention span do we begin to do this? First, we have to get solid facts about what happened and how it's being addressed into the hands of THE PEOPLE. We must become the VERY well informed majority. We must actively spread this knowledge as quickly and thoroughly as we can. We don't have to agree on absolutely everything, many times we probably won't. But we absolutely MUST each attain enough knowledge about the subject(s) at hand to discuss it intelligently, and resist the urge to 'lord it over others', but rather to share it with them, convince them of it's reality and implications for our mutual survival. We must then be effective in communicating to world leaders that we are very much awake and aware, and we disapprove ENTIRELY with what they are doing, what they are hiding, with their deals and influences and corruption at every level. We must remind them of their moral and legal responsibility, and that if they don't adopt a proper respect for 'we the governed' that they WILL BE replaced by those who DO and act not in their own interests, but in the interests of life on Earth.
So, how do we get there, well that is what this effort hopes to address ...

I'm NOT a globalist, but this solution will require several things:
- 1. Pooling of collective expertise
- 2. The world moratorium on Nuclear Pursuits
- 3. The world agreeing on how to effectively dispose of Nuclear Waste materials
