Wow what a great resource. It is a little thin on the topic of PHYTOPLANKTON however the graphs and content regarding the convection currents and cycles needs to be shared with all those who believe that it takes THREE years to cross the Pacific from Fukushima and that the Southern Hemisphere is PROTECTED BY THE RED LINE ON THE GLOBE/MAP AT THE EQUATOR-Nothing can cross that!!!!
These graphs also in simplistic detail show how the currents reach into every ocean and sea on the planet, and then of course through the water/air convection cycles distribution is also globally, and many times at speeds significantly greater than the 100 mph which is always attributed as the speed of the Jet Stream to the general populace
Awesome find. Thanks

It speaks to many things Russ, not the least of which is an 'argument' of sorts I'm having regarding the 'dilution' question. In and of itself, water is a good shield for radiation, which is why it is used in reactor vessels. But our oceans are full of many life-forms both plant, animal and in-between (so to speak). These life-forms absorb and concentrate radiation and radioactive materials. Ocean currents also distribute anything suspended in the water column(s) and thermocline(s) globally. The general argument I've heard so far is that given the size of the Pacific Ocean, the amount of material(s) impacting the whole body of water will effectively 'dilute' it to levels which have very negligible impact especially in the US and Western coast of North America I believe the theory in operation is that radioactive materials are so dense that they will eventually 'self sequester' in the abyssal regions and minimize environmental impact. I expect as the project I'm currently working on is published (WIDELY BTW) it will begin to attract others to this Forum, and I'm hoping for VERY SERIOUS 'players' indeed! I will be addressing this specific concern, but it is only a small part of the over all discussion. I want to up the ante considerably and move us away from the easily refuted, dismissed garbage we are used too and subjected too in the Facebook arena
