Fukushima Diary : “Mitsubishi Heavy Industries trying to quit being in cooperate with Areva”, a Fukushima worker
Posted by Mochizuki on April 19th, 2014 Following up this article.. 3 vice presidents of Tepco’s new Fukushima company are from nuclear makers / Mitsubishi, Toshiba, Hitachi GE
The government of Japan and Tepco are sticking to the policy “All Japan” to eliminate foreign capital on decommissioning Fukushima plant.
However, the 3 vice presidents of Tepco’s new inner company include a member from Hitachi GE nuclear energy. Also, the external advisory committee consists of the member from US or England. (cf, Only American representatives made default in the 1st meeting of international group for Fukushima decommissioning [URL2])
When Tepco established the new Fukushima company, it was actually only Areva that was eliminated from the stakeholders.
Mitsubishi Heavy Industries sent a vice president, but Areva, which is supposed to be in cooperation with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries did not send anyone to the board.
On 4/19/2014, a Fukushima worker replied to my pointing this out on Twitter and stated Mitsubishi Heavy Industries is actually wanting to quit being in cooperative with Areva quickly.
He didn’t add a comment on why.
Fukushima Diary has been following this worker for a long time. From his deep knowledge about the plant details and the situation, it is highly likely that he is involved in Fukushima decommissioning in real. (cf, Anonymous Fukushima worker, “Doctor diagnosed mycoplasma pneumonia, throat looked like gastric ulcer” [URL3])
